When I first started to study essential oils I learned all these great benefits of rosemary oil and of course went straight home to do a hair treatment because I just couldn't wait to make my hair longer, stronger, healthier- the natural way.
Needless to say I did not have the experience or education behind me at the time and therefore did not do a proper dilution and gave myself a very strong reaction...like high as a kite reaction that I am pretty sure gave me my astigmatism lol.
While I had a 2 hour freak out, running around my TO apartment- yelling at my sister to help me, telling her something was really wrong, rinsing the treatment out, then shampooing, then repeating all those things 2-3 more times. Eventually, as my sister continued to ignore my ranting, and the continuous washing it out wasn't offering any relief I decided that going outside in the freezing winter air with soaking wet hair was my last attempt in stopping the intense feeling and return my pupils to a semi-normal size...NOPE.
Since then I have furthered my education and now have many years of experience behind me (trails and failures included;) and am happy to say I have re-introduced myself to rosemary and would now like to introduce it to you :)
Rosemary, or Rosemarinus officinalis essential oil has a very powerful aroma and is clear in color with a light weight, water- like viscosity. Rosemary oil has a sloo of health benefits because it is rich in vitamins and minerals our body craves.
Benefits of Using Rosemary Oil on the SKIN and HAIR:
Rosemary oil has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties- so its great for fighting inflammation and skin irritations such as acne. The powerful stimulation of this oil improves blood circulation to the area and therefore can rejuvenate the look of the skin and increase the health of the skin. Because this oil stimulates blood flow it is also great as a hair treatment as the increased blood flow will stimulate the hair follicles and encourage hair growth. Also known to be great for dandruff, head lice and encourages stronger healthier hair and prevents premature hair loss.
** Please do not use rosemary oil in hair or skin treatments without the presence or advise of a natural health practitioner or doctor.** Do I need to remind you of my story? lol.
