Our feet, although super strong and carry all our weight, go through a lot during the day, especially if your job involves a lot of standing or walking. You can try to wear comfortable shoes, but sometimes you’d rather look good than feel good and the feet suffer.
Lucky for us, we can come home to relax with a hot foot bath that will have your feet thanking you!
Here are a couple of recipes that are perfect for detoxifying and restoring tired and swollen feet. Some are also good for moisturizing as well.
1. Simple Salt Foot Bath - helps tired and achy feet
Ingredients:
i. 1/8 cup of sea salts
ii. 1/8 cup of Epsom salt
iii. Water
How To:
i. In a large pan, boil the water and let it cool to a temperature you’re comfortable with
ii. Add salt to it and let it dissolve
iii. Soak your feet
2. Essential Oil Foot Bath - great for soothing and relaxing your feet
Ingredients:
i. Water
ii. Lavender, Sandalwood, Peppermint or Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
iii. ¼ cup of Epsom salt
How To:
i. Boil water and cool to a temperature you’re comfortable with
ii. Dilute a couple of drops of chosen essential oil in 1 tsp of carrier oil base or vegetable glycerin base
iii. Mix well with water and soak those tootsies!
3. Detox Soak – great for reviving tired feet and eliminating toxins
Ingredients:
i. 2 tbsp of Epsom salts
ii. 2 tbsp of Sea salt
iii. 2 tbsp of baking soda
iiii. Apple Cider Vinegar
How To:
i. Mix the ingredients together
ii. Put mixture in a foot basin and fill with warm-hot water as feels good to you
iii. **optional: add a few drops of Apple Cider Vinegar for additional detoxifying
iv. Soak feet for half an hour
4. Peppermint Lime Foot Soak – great for tired, swollen, achy feet
Ingredients:
i. 1/4 cup Epsom salts
ii. 2 tbsp of Baking Soda
iii. Zest of 1/4 lime
iv. 2 drops of Lime essential oil
v. 2 drops Peppermint essential oil
How To:
i. Combine the salt with the baking soda in a bowl with the lime zest
ii. Add essential oil drops
iii. Combine and make sure everything is mixed well
iv. Add mixture to a basin of warm water and soak your feet
5. Honey Lemon Foot Bath – great for relaxing the muscles, removing dead skin cells, and easing swollen feet

i. ½ cup of honey
ii. 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
iii. 1 lemon (sliced up)

i. Add all the ingredients to the bowl and soak for half an hour
