I have to say all growing up I was the girl who did not wear makeup up. I didn't like it. I wasn't good at applying it. And I simply felt prettier without it.
As my friends and I got a little older and starting going to parties and eventually clubs I tried more and more to put this stuff on. I mean it was part of the process, right? Part of the fun? Girls getting ready together, having pre-drinks and putting on makeup. By the time we were all ready to go out, I felt like I was plastered in the stuff and didn't even want to go out as it made me uncomfortable and feel like I looked disgusting.

More recently I have started wearing it more- maybe because I am better at applying it now or maybe because I'm more comfortable in my own skin and style but most likely is because there has been a big boom of natural makeups launching.
Over the past 10 years and even more so in the past 5 years I have been noticing it everywhere.
The first thing I purchased was about 6-7 years ago, maybe longer, it was all natural mascara. It was so happy I found this. I didn't feel guilty wearing it and it looked so natural when applied. SO naturally I wore the shit out of this stuff! Only downfall is that being natural the mascara begins to "fall" throughout the day...meaning you would end up with black marks under the eyes and constantly be having to wipe in under to ensure you weren't walking around like a raccoon.
Natural makeup has improved vastly even in that short amount of time (even the above mentioned mascara brand has;) But have you ever thought about just making your own??
Natural makeup is simply comprised of mineral powders and natural vegetable or fruit pigments- so we should be able to do this, no?
Natural Foundation Powder:
Arrow Root as your base (more for lighter skin, less for darker skin)
Add in cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg to perfect your skin tone
Use Powder brush to apply.
Great thing about this it is ONLY 2 INGREDIENTS, we know what they are and they are not bad for the skin (get organic and high grade for better quality) and you smell fab to any boys kissing that beautiful face of yours!
If you want to make this a liquid foundation simply add 1 or 2 drops of oil (jojoba is a great option) or a pea size of your favorite moisturizer to the powder mixture.
Before the wide variety of natural makeup came out I used to used my all natural loose foundation powder by shaking the powder brush over a drop of my sunblock or moisturizer to apply. It left my skin looking more hydratied and dewy with a glow opposed to just laying powder on the face which can sometimes look dry. (All depends of on your skin type and season of course;)
If you want to add some colour into those cheeks try making a natural blush or bronzer:
Pink Blush Mix--> Arrowroot with beetroot, using less or more beetroot to reach the pigment you like.
Bronzer Mix-->Arrowroot with cocoa and or cinnamon
Good Luck and happy natural makeup-ing!
